Slow Down

The pace of life here seems to be so much slower, in a good way. The siesta after lunch allows for families to come together during the middle of the day. Everyone strolls at a leisurely pace and you hardly ever see someone rushing down the streets. I have decided that "hast" is not in the dictionary here in Sevilla. While the people are productive, they seem to take life less seriously and work only to have enough to live comfortably. Days are long here, meals last over an hour with conversation, and even our house madre stays up until one or two in the morning. At first this slow pace and weird eating times annoyed me but now I'm starting to admire and enjoy their customs. Every ounce of enjoyment is squeezed out of the Sevilla day.
Just a few thoughts :)
